Celebrating Local Excellence: Meet the 2025 Bob Carney Commitment to Community Scholarship Recipients
Each year, Taylor-Made Real Estate honors the legacy of our former Broker and friend, Bob Carney, by awarding the Commitment to Community Scholarship to outstanding Garrett County, Maryland students. In 2025, we are thrilled to recognize two remarkable Northern Garrett High School students, Jacquelyn Patton and Kambria Kyle, for their dedication to service, leadership, and academic success.
A Legacy of Service and Integrity
The scholarship was created to commemorate Bob Carney’s unwavering commitment to the people and communities of Garrett County. Known for his kindness, integrity, and passion for helping others, Bob left a lasting impact on those around him. Through this annual award, we continue his mission by supporting students who share those same values.
Introducing the 2025 Recipients
Jacquelyn Patton is a senior at Northern Garrett High School whose commitment to helping others is evident in everything she does. With nearly 400 volunteer hours under her belt, Jacquelyn has given her time to the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department and Southern Garrett Rescue Squad, gaining experience as an EMT. Her leadership extends to the classroom, where she has served as Student Council Treasurer and Parliamentarian for the Garrett County Association of Student Councils. Jacquelyn is also active in FFA, Envirothon, and tennis, and has been recognized on the Distinguished Honor Roll. She plans to pursue a career as a paramedic, beginning her studies at Garrett College this fall.
Kambria Kyle, also a Northern Garrett High School senior, has shown extraordinary leadership in a wide range of roles. She is President of the National Honor Society, Battalion Commander of JROTC, and President of the Garrett County Association of Student Councils. Kambria’s passion for service shines through in her volunteer work with the Deep Creek Lions Club Blind Camper Program and her efforts to launch a first responder obstacle course competition that benefits community members in need. She has accepted an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where she will continue her journey in leadership and service.
Continuing the Commitment
Both Jacquelyn and Kambria represent the very best of Garrett County’s next generation. Their achievements reflect the values that Bob Carney lived by every day, and we are honored to support their future endeavors.
